![]() My first gravel bike had a Microshift front derailleur. OTOH, an upgraded drive train can mean better shifting in addition to having more gears to choose from. I don't think you have to spend a crazy amount to get good quality, and some of what you get by spending more is about performance-for example, having more gears means you can spend more time in an optimal gear but not necessarily that you'll get better shifting. When it comes to quality, if you're buying from a major brand, it really comes down to how much you're willing to spend. and those issues were easily fixed by me. I had a few minor issues with the bike when I got it that were the fault of the mechanic who set the bike up, so that's on Performance Bike (which no longer exists). The only problem I would blame the manufacturer for is the rear thru axel can be a pain to get threaded.
